Today's card is "Dance of Illusions." It laughs at you — not cruelly, but the way you laugh at a circus once you finally notice the clowns left hours ago and you're still standing in the empty tent believing the show is real. Almost everything that wrecks our nerves — expectations of people, of events, of how things "should" be — is just scenery. The people around you never signed up to be who you imagined. Everyone has their own role, their own mask, their own light and their own dark, and when someone takes the mask off and you see a face you weren't expecting, that isn't the world betraying you. That's just a mask coming off. I've stepped on this same rock for years: I'd get attached to a picture of a person I built in my own head, then get furious at the real one standing in front of me. I wasn't angry at them. I was angry at the gap between the picture and the truth.

Here's the honest, harder part: letting go of expectations doesn't mean you stop loving people or give up on them forever. It means you stop demanding the circus be something other than a circus. I learned this on hunger — a few days without real food, and the body drops everything unnecessary on its own, all the noise, until what's left is just watching what's actually happening, no performance wrapped around it. Turns out when you stop fighting the fact that people are people and not your projections, breathing gets easier by a lot. Not because the world got kinder. Because you stopped demanding something from it that it never promised you.

Do this today: think of one person you're still holding a grudge against for "not being who they should be" — and mentally take off the mask you put on them. Just look at who they actually are, without your script. That's it, no confrontation, no big talk. And laugh — even a little, even forced — at how long you mistook a circus for a temple.
