“Genius” — card from the “Awakening of the Soul” deck · Nikola Blajen 🔍 📌 Save to Pinterest

Today's card is Genius. Not about being chosen, not "unlock your chakras and it'll shine." It's about a spark that's already sitting inside you, stronger than you are — and you either feed it for years or bury it under "I'd rather play it safe." I didn't believe this for a long time. I thought genius was for other people, the ones who knew what they'd become since childhood. For me it was the opposite — drifting, hitting bottom, trying to live like everyone else and getting nowhere, until I stopped fighting what was trying to get out. The cards, the books, all of it — not because I'm smarter than anyone. Because at some point I stopped being embarrassed by what was burning inside and started serving it instead of hiding it.

The hard part is the one nobody talks about. Genius isn't a flash — it's thousands of evenings alone, nobody watching, no results showing, where it's very easy to tell yourself you imagined the whole thing. Athletes don't get strong at the competition — they get strong on an empty stadium field, hurting, with nobody clapping. I wrote for a full year with no readers, literally — just me and the text at night, and I wanted to quit maybe ten times because I couldn't see the point of continuing something nobody needed. The trap is simple: waiting for permission, a sign, recognition — before you actually commit. Permission never comes. It shows up after, not before.

What to do today: think of one thing you do that isn't for money and isn't for praise — just because it pulls at you. Give it half an hour, no excuses about "later, when there's time." Don't wait for the spark from outside — it's already burning, just check whether you've buried it under busywork. Genius doesn't wait for the convenient moment. It either lives in you, or it goes out under everything you keep putting off.

"The gift isn't what's given — it's what isn't abandoned."
