Today's card is "Healing of the Soul." Not the idea that pain disappears if you ignore it long enough. The idea that a wound is not a life sentence — it's just a wound, and you can work with it the way you work with the body. You cut yourself, you clean it, you bandage it, you wait for it to close. Same with the soul, except somewhere along the way we decided a different rule applies here: grit your teeth, pretend you're fine, carry on. It doesn't work. I've tested this on myself — whatever you don't finish healing comes back later, at the worst possible moment, usually on someone who had nothing to do with it.

Honestly, the hardest part isn't admitting the pain — it's letting go of the shame around it. There was a stretch when I couldn't figure out where all this anger inside me was coming from, out of nowhere — then it hit me that it wasn't "nowhere," it was an old wound I'd spent years pretending not to notice. Digging into yourself is uncomfortable. You want to close the subject fast, find someone outside to blame, and move on. But the soul doesn't heal that way — it heals through attention, the same attention we usually spend on everyone except ourselves. And right behind it comes your bloodline — what you inherited, not what you invented, passed down a generation or more. That doesn't erase responsibility, it just lifts part of the guilt: not everything hurting in you is your own doing.

What you can actually do today — don't try to sort out your whole life in one sitting. Find one specific wound you've known about for a long time and kept walking around. Don't analyze it. Just name it out loud, to yourself or in prayer, to whoever you believe in — God, or just the silence. "This hurts. I'm acknowledging it." The naming itself is already part of the healing, even with no result yet. Wholeness doesn't arrive in one evening, but it starts with exactly this step — not with "I'll deal with it later."

"Name the wound — and it stops running you in secret."
