Today's card is "The Light of Happiness." The kind of title that makes you wince a little — sounds like something off a greeting card. But underneath it's the exact opposite of a greeting card: not a promise that everything's about to get better, but the plain fact that the light is already on. You've just buried it under junk. Money, whether there's too little or plenty of it — doesn't matter. Someone by your side or nobody. A family or none at all. Happiness doesn't ask circumstances for permission. It's either a state already living inside you, or it isn't, and no rearranging of the outside furniture changes that.

I've tested this on myself more times than I'd like — stretches where everything outside lined up perfectly and inside I was empty and anxious, and moments near the bottom where a calm hit me so hard I wanted to laugh for no reason. I'll be honest: it's infuriating once you see the connection clearly. You want happiness to depend on something external — then you could just go get it, buy it, earn it. It doesn't sell like that. The trap is that we spend a whole life waiting for conditions — then, when, if — and miss the light that's already burning right now, under all that waiting. Dropping the expectations isn't a pose. It's the only way that actually works to see it.

You don't need to solve your whole life today. Find one small thing already sitting in this exact day that's already good — not tomorrow, not once the vacation happens, but now — and just stay in it for a minute, asking nothing more of it. The light doesn't go out from storms outside. It only goes out when you're the one who turns away from it.
