The individual who has left the destructive aspect of the Tower behind is free as the wind and can reach the stars. Everything is luminous and clear. Myriad spiritual beings draw near to support and accompany them. Life is so beautiful! Thank You, O Creator, who has accompanied us through all our accomplishments.

The attributes of this card are humanity, love, awareness, wisdom and a deep understanding for other people. The initiate on the plane of the Star says: "I have lived through temptation and been reborn from pain. Now God the Father-Mother is guiding me toward the resolution of new tasks."

Without You I am like a speck of dust on the wind. Without You I am a wild blossoming, dark waters. Without You I am a destroying flame. Without You I am a careless word that brings ruin. Thanks to You, O Lord, I have become a Star!

A tremendous capacity for surrender is needed before initiates can acknowledge all of this and gaze with equal delight upon both the path they have traveled and the path that still awaits them.

We have reached the point of retrospection. The first five cards embody the following philosophical principles: I. The Magician: I am not only body, but also spirit. II. The High Priestess: Polarity, the not-yet-revealed mystery, this world and the beyond, duality. III. The Empress: The feminine being in all her aspects, the Great Mother, nature. IV. The Emperor: The earthly father, the law of order, the protector, matter. V. The Priest: The spiritual father, the first steps toward surrender, love, two spiritual paths.

At this point the first moral trial has taken place. It is followed by these further lessons: VI. The Lovers: From this point onward, teachings are tested, decisions are made and physical love is known. VII. The Chariot: Decisions are made, mastery over one's own life. VIII. Strength: Energy transformed. IX. The Hermit: The desire for perfection. X. Wheel of Fortune: Control over one's own feelings and instincts, and the ability to turn the Wheel of one's own Fortune. XI. Justice: The fulfillment of the law of love for oneself and others. XII. The Hanged Man: The absolute surrender of the ego. XIII. Death: Sacrifice within oneself — change.

At this point in the process, having drawn upon their own accomplishments, initiates begin to recognize what is happening around and within them. XIV. Temperance: The attainment of balance, an art. XV. The Devil: The trial of confronting matter and sexuality. XVI. The Tower: One of the final trials of courage — the initiate must lose everything before he or she can attain everything. XVII. The Star: Receptivity, sensitivity, being guided, contact with the master. Here mystical illumination begins. XVIII. The Moon: Understanding of the subconscious, acceptance, further courageous progress. XIX. The Sun: The card of Thou and of harmony. XX. Judgement: Total awakening. XXI. The World: The consciousness of every individual soul in its connection to the absolute spirit. 0. The Fool: End — beginning — a new plane.

Card number seventeen of the Tarot of the Aquarian Age shows the profile of a young woman. Her face radiates a clear inner beauty. The expression on her face is gentle, yet resolute. Looking at her face, you can tell that she has transformed her selfish desires and her self-image into real deeds. In her crown chakra shines a sparkling light, her personal Star, the one guide she allows to lead her. Who is this woman? She is Eve, representing the whole embodiment of humanity. Having endured so many harsh trials, she has attained the highest illumination and lives an authentic life with real courage. She knows that everyone has their own destiny to fulfill, that everyone has taken on a mission. All embodied beings work, in part for themselves, on a program that must be carried out. Every journey on this Earth has been given a purpose, and the most significant step along the way has been set and determined. Confusion and pain always arise when a person strays from the path of destiny they have chosen for themselves. The freedom to decide can lead us far from our true path, but that same freedom can also reunite us with ourselves and our path.

Individuals at the stage of development symbolized by the Star can hear the voice of their master and will no longer stray from their true path. They feel purity, an impersonal love for themselves and others. They are fully on the way to becoming masters themselves.

The Hebrew letter is TZADI (hook). According to the Bible, we now live in the Age of Pisces. The hook will lead humanity into the coming Age of Aquarius. Card number seventeen is dedicated to the astrological sign of Aquarius, an air sign that embodies openness toward everything new.

The rune of the Star is EIHWAZ, meaning "yew." This rune denotes the vertical axis of the world tree. Everything created exists according to this defining principle. The yew is also the sacred tree of magicians and shamans. The deep purity presented in this card spreads joy and gives hope for a better world.
